Mark Pullin, alias Mr Pearl, est un corsetier de renom dont le parcours ne laisse pas indifférent. Passionné d'arts et de mode, c'est avec les plus grands noms tels que Christiant Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood ou encore Thierry Mugler, que cet esprit travaille, exclusivement sur commande.

Sa plus grande singularité est sa taille, la plus fine au monde pour un homme : 46 cm. Adepte du tighlacing, ou fait de réduire volontairement sa taille par le port constant d'un corset, c'est après 11 ans qu'il obtint ce résultat spectaculaire. Cet excentrique fait en fait perdurer une mode instaurée par les dandys et les militaires au XIXe siècle, où le port du corset n'était pas exclusivement réservé aux femmes.

Bien plus qu'une icône, Mr Pearl est d'une grande influence mais a toujours préféré rester dans l'ombre des projecteurs, symbole manifeste d'une grande sagesse.

Croquis : Les plis ne sont que le signe de ma modeste technique. Ne disposant pas des crayons adéquats, j'ai beaucoup trop appuyé sur le papier pour tenter de donner de la profondeur au croquis, ce qui rend très mal au scanner.

Its greatest singularity is its size, actually the thinnest in the world for a man : 46 cm. Adept of tighlacing, or the practice of wearing a corset to achieve extreme modifications to the figure, it's after 11 years that he obtained this spectacular result. This eccentric is, in fact, following a trend established by the dandies and the soldiers in the nineteenth century, when corsets weren't exclusively for women.

More than that an icon, Mr Pearl has a powerful influence but prefers staying in the background, acquiring all his wisdom in this respect.

Sketch : The folds are just a sign of my modest technique. Not having the appropriate pencils, I pressed the paper too much to give some depth to the sketch and the effect is not that good through the scanner.
